Can I get prescription?

Yes, you can. Physicians.com doesn’t guarantee prescriptions, but based on your doctor, dermatologist or psychiatrist’s best judgement, they can prescribe medicine or refill prescriptions if medically necessary.

Physicians.com doctors do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by the DEA, nontherapeutic and/or certain other drugs that may be harmful because of their potential for abuse. Also, nontherapeutic drugs such as Viagra and Cialis are not prescribed by Physicians.com doctors.

Yes. Our primary care providers can start new medications as clinically necessary and appropriate and can prescribe refills for maintenance medications for a full year. We do not prescribe opioids, narcotics and other DEA-controlled substances.

Will I have to pay to get the vaccine?

The vaccine is available at no cost to Americans. Your provider may charge an administration fee. Contact your provider for more information.

I heard I can still get COVID-19 even if I’m vaccinated. So, do I still need the vaccine?

Yes. Being vaccinated makes you far less likely to get COVID-19. If you are vaccinated and do get COVID-19, you are much less likely than an unvaccinated person to get very sick or need to go to the hospital.

Where can I get vaccinated?

Contact your local medical provider to find out where vaccines are available in your area. You will also be able to find this information on VaccineFinder, a website that helps people find vaccine providers.

I have a chronic condition. Should I be worried about getting the vaccine?

COVID-19 vaccines are recommended for and can be given to most people with underlying medical conditions.
Adults with conditions like diabetes and heart failure are at increased risk for severe illness from the virus that causes COVID-19. The clinical trials included many different types of people, including those with medical conditions. Learn more at here.

How can I get in touch with my provider?

You can ask follow-up questions in the message center for up to 7 days after your online visit. All communication with the mental health provider is through the Physicians.com message center. This service is only through the app or online.

How do I get ready for my video visit?

When scheduling a video visit on Physicians.com, you will be asked to test your audio and video quality. This page runs simple tests on both your audio and video quality. If both are functioning properly, your computer has passed the test, and you can proceed with completing your visit request.

Please note: This test is not required when joining from a mobile device.

How quickly can I get my lab results?

Lab results are finalized and sent to you discreetly in three business days or less. For patients who receive positive STD test results or whose results require further explanation, a consult may be requested with an STDcheck doctor at a time that is convenient for you. Once you request a consult, a doctor will call you back.

How are prescriptions sent to the pharmacy?

Physicians.com does not dispense prescription drugs. If the doctor prescribes medication, it is submitted electronically or by phone to the pharmacy of your choice.

Will Physicians.com provide an RX for birth control pills? Short-term refill?

Physicians.com providers cannot prescribe a new prescription for birth control pills, but they can do one short-term refill.

Will I be contacted by Physicians.com when my prescription is ready?

Physicians.com will send you an email when your prescription is submitted. We suggest contacting your selected pharmacy to confirm when your prescription will be ready.

Can you prescribe antibiotics?

Yes, however, any prescription of antibiotics must be accurate and professional. We understand the negative consequences that may result from over-prescribing and thus our doctors will only write prescriptions in instances where such medication is absolutely necessary.

Is there a COVID-19 vaccine?

Yes. Three COVID-19 vaccines are available in the U.S. Two of the vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) require two doses; the other (Johnson & Johnson) is a one-dose vaccine.

Do you prescribe oral vaccines?

Under our prescription policy, Teladoc does not prescribe vaccines, oral or otherwise, including those needed for international travel.

Do I have to travel to see a doctor?

No. We will handle everything for you. All your contact with us is over the phone or online. You do not need to travel or contact your doctor(s) to obtain records, images, or other information related to your case.

Can Physicians.com provide a doctor's note for work?

Physicians.com can provide a doctors note for work on request.

Do I need insurance?

If you do not have access to Physicians.com through your benefits or do not have health insurance, you can still use Physicians.com for Everyday Care, Dermatology, and Mental Health Care.
